One of the most common questions authors get asked is where they get their ideas. No doubt readers and would be novelists imagine a state of mental nirvana where professional writers go to mine best selling stories. False. The truth is, there is no secret technique. We all have ideas for stories. Some are hidden in our day to day, imagining how the mundane might spring to fantastical. But more so, I believe, our stories lie in the travel and adventure of our lives. When we push the boundaries, explore, and leave the safety of home, the stuff of legend has a way of finding us.
